WEB DESIGN // HAMILTON

Web design in Hamilton.

Hamilton businesses are being outranked by agencies that have never driven up the Claremont Access. We build sites here, for companies here, and we can show you the work.

Hamilton is the biggest market within an hour of our office and the one where the gap between what local companies get and what they pay for is widest. The search results are the evidence. Several of the firms ranking for Hamilton web design and marketing terms are not in Hamilton, are not in Ontario, and in at least one case are not in the country. They win because they publish more than the local shops do, not because they understand the city better.

That is a solvable problem, and solving it is most of what we do.

What we have built around Hamilton

AVH Foundations is a Hamilton foundation repair and waterproofing company. Their site had to do something harder than look good: it had to take a homeowner who has just found water in their basement and is quietly panicking, and get them to a diagnosis rather than a sales pitch. We also merged a second brand into it without losing either one's search history, which is the part of that project we are most pleased with and the part nobody notices.

McGeoch Electric and Cranney Industrial both work into Hamilton from nearby. McGeoch is residential and commercial electrical across Hamilton, Guelph, Cambridge and the Waterloo Region. Cranney serves the aggregate and concrete sector and needed a site that speaks to procurement people rather than to homeowners, which is a completely different writing job.

Three different industries, three different buyers, three sites that share no template.

Hamilton is not one market

The city absorbed Stoney Creek, Dundas, Ancaster, Flamborough and Glanbrook in 2001, and twenty-five years later people still do not search as though that happened. Somebody in Ancaster looking for a contractor types Ancaster. Somebody in Dundas types Dundas. A single page that says "serving Hamilton and surrounding areas" is invisible to both of them.

If your work is concentrated in one part of the city, the site should say so in the places search engines read: the page title, the headings, the schema, and the body copy. If you genuinely cover the whole amalgamated city plus Burlington, that is a different structure again. We work out which one you are before we draw anything.

The escarpment matters more than people expect, too. For a trade, the access routes decide which jobs are worth taking, and a site that quietly signals you work above the mountain or below it is answering a question every local customer is already asking.

What a Hamilton build includes

Every site we hand over is written and built from scratch. No themes, no page builders, no library of blocks rearranged into a new shape. The reason is not purity, it is weight: a builder site carries the code for every feature it might have been, and your customer downloads all of it on a phone on Barton Street with two bars of signal.

The build covers the architecture, which pages exist and what each one is for, the design system, the copy, the technical SEO, the forms and the tracking behind them. You get a site where you can see which page produced which lead, because a lead with no source is a lead you cannot buy more of.

What it costs and how it runs

Builds start at $5,000 and most Hamilton small business sites sit between $5,000 and $15,000. You get a fixed quote in writing before anything begins, and you only pay when each phase ships. We do not bill hourly, because hourly billing pays us for being slow.

Typical timeline is a week and a half to three and a half weeks from approved brief to launch.

If you want to see what that buys before you talk to anyone, our work page has the real builds, running live, and you can scroll through each one.

What makes a Hamilton trade site actually convert

The build is only half of it. The part that decides whether the site pays for itself is what happens in the ninety seconds after somebody lands on it.

Three things move that number more than anything else we have tested across our builds. The phone number has to be real and tappable in the first screenful, because a large share of trade enquiries come from a phone held one-handed in a driveway. The quote form has to ask for less than you want and more than a name, which in practice means the job type, the postal code and a way to reach them, with the detail gathered after they have committed. And there has to be photographic evidence of your own work, not stock, because every competitor has the same stock library and a homeowner can tell.

What we need from you

Less than most agencies ask for, and we say that because the usual answer is a sixty-field questionnaire that stalls the project for a month.

We need an hour of your time at the start, photographs of your work if you have them, and a named person who can approve things. We write the copy, we handle the technical setup, and we come back to you with decisions rather than homework. If you have an existing site, we also need access to the domain, which is worth checking you actually have before you hire anyone, for reasons we wrote about in who actually owns your website.
